When I first tried this utility I did not like very much. No pretty icons, no jazzy screen, not even a little animation of my drive. Just a Word instruction sheet and a small .exe file to put on my C drive.
I was mistaken. This is an invaluable programme for anyone, even more so for someone like me who has shareware bouncing on and off their hard drive every day. It would also be a great boon for a training PC where each day files are added and extra software is loaded. With Rosenthal it will not matter - just quickly run it and everything is back to the pristine condition it was at the start of the day.
The first time you run it Rosenthal Uninstall maps everything on your drive. Then every time you install anything, run it again and it will offer to uninstall everything loaded since the last map run, and restore your win.INI, system.INI and the two files that make up the Registry. Obsolete icons, unwanted programme groups and even the void Start entries are all cleaned away.Yes.... And it also backs out changes to the AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files. I REALLY wish I had got hold of Rosenthal long ago, I would not have a big fat Registry full of junk now. If I ever reformat, Rosenthal will be top of the list for reinstall.
If your whole system crashes and Windows will not run you can still use Rosenthal to uninstall anything causing problems - it runs completely independent of the Operating system. The DOS window is an unfamiliar one to us Windows users, and the instructions could be clearer, but once you have the hang of it you will not want to be without it.
If you like shareware, you need Rosenthall uninstall.
