This program allows you to search the Internet using four different search engines. You can choose from Alta Vista, Lycos, Webcrawler, Excite, Yahoo, Magellan, Infoseek and Deja News. Search4 works with Microsoft Internet Explorer ( I use this) or Netscape Navigator.
The program runs from system tray, just right click on it. You can chose your options at this time or run a search. Options include how it will be presented on your desktop, i.e., tile four framed as a grid, tile four frames horizontally, tile four frames vertically or a new window will be opened for each search engine. You can use one word, a group of words or a phrase. After searching, you can set it to exit, stay active in the system tray or show search dialog on startup.
This is not a fancy program but it gets the job done rather quickly. I only found two annoying little things. One is the little startup reminder to register, but this is understandable because so many people abuse it. Two when you close down each little window it asks if you want to close your Internet connection, this I found to be a pain.
