Sometimes you want to keep life simple, you have
a small problem that requires a neat solution. WinSize 1.2
provides just that. If you want to know how much space a folder
is taking on your hard drive, right click and select
"size" and Winsize will pop up and tell you. Then it
will go away again, leaving no illegal file errors, no conflicts
with other programs and no hassle.
Winsize also tells you the size in two ways - the size of the
actual file and the amount of space it has been allocated, so you
can see at a glance how much is wasted. Installing Winsize is
simple thanks to the Wizard supplied, and the right click option
is added automatically for you. It takes up very little hard disc
space, it tells me it has taken 294Kb of my drive but in reality
has 416Kb.
There is no support available, it is a pity the author does not
have a web site (at least not one I can find) to provide news of
new versions and other utilities he may have created.
Freeware is often hit or miss in reliability, after all it is
usually experimental and invariably amateur. WinSize is
professional in quality and offers ease of use combined with lack
of hassle.
