This is the newest version of Five +, an addictive game of getting 5 or
more marbles in a row to make them disappear, and score points. There is now a Five-plus
website, and while there isn't yet head to head internet play, [the author says that is an
upcoming feature] you can still compete, by posting your high scores on the website and
comparing them with others from all over the world. As with the original, this is in
English, German or Dutch. It is recommended that you use high or true color, while it will
use 256 color, it isn't as good. This program comes with 2 graphics libraries by default,
you can also download additional graphics and sound libraries from their website, and the
manual will tell you how to set them up.
Also, while I could be wrong, [I don't think so, but I can't check the older version of
the game is history since I got the newer one] I think the manual has been reworked and
made better. I'm a firm believer in good manuals, I'd rather spend my time playing a game,
than spend 3 days trying to figure out how to play, and what happens when you do this, or
that. They have included examples, and like I said if I'm not mistaken, I think the manual
is much better.
Upcoming features are variable sized boards, online playing, time based game mode,
scrambler balls [don't ask me!] and "whatever you recommend me to implement", so
if you have any ideas, sounds to me like an invitation to e-mail author and share them.
