Download/HomepageThis is the best graphics manager I've ever tried. It's simple to use;
just install from the download without a lot of red tape. The help file is very clear and
the toolbars and menus are almost self-explanatory. It's well worth the $40.00
registration fee.
Graphics are displayed via the "tree" system on the left side and are shown by
"thumbnail" on the right side. Upon initial setup the graphics aren't displayed
but are shown as the Graphics Workshop logo with the file name underneath. Since the
package displays 40+ file extensions, including TXT, WAV, MOV, etc... which either don't
have graphics or have the kind you don't want displayed, you can choose to display any or
all of the images in each file, or choose not to display any at all. It doesn't update an
entire drive all at once, but will update each individual file. I find that to be much
better than waiting 5 or more minutes for other managers to scan and update every file in
a drive all at once.
Once you've got your graphics displayed you can do almost anything you want with them.
Graphics Workshop Professional converts between formats, does batch conversions, allows
photographic clean up, and has a keyword search function. It allows for scanning, special
effects, and plays MID and WAV files. It also allows you to view MOV and MPEG files.
