To start with, after you unzip the program, before you play the game you
MUST check out a doc file titled simply help. This starts out with the history of pegs as
a game, and it definitely cracked me up; I don't care if someone could provide proof of
all the claims made in this history, it is still a crack-up [although I hope whoever wrote
it didn't have any trouble getting his tongue out of his cheek].
Ok, now lets get serious and play. You will be prompted to enter your name, then you will
see an upside-down triangle of 15 boards. Each one has a different starting position, and
you click on one of them and then play that time honored game of Pegs-you know, jump a peg
and remove-end up with one. I've been playing this game for about an hour and I don't know
if the different starting positions help or not, that's cause ever since I was a kid,
[back in the dark ages of medicine and almost everything else] the only time I EVER wound
up with only one peg left-I had no idea how I did it to even attempt to do it again. So
far the different positions haven't helped ME any, but the day is still young, and the old
man is getting left-overs [again] tonight so wish me luck!
P.S. Before I finished this review, I tried it once more and is everyone familiar with
Murphy's Law? You got it-I not only won, but I did it twice more! That is the first time
in my life I have ever won [anyone can stumble on a win once in a while] and actually
repeated. I'd say that makes this a fair to middling game, huh? Oh you want to know which
one I won with? Top row, far left-match me!!
