Download/HomepageGetSmart is a download program with a new feature the other download
programs don't have. Like other download programs it will capture http and ftp addresses
when copied and add them to the download list. For files extensions it don't recognize you
can set the program up to recognize them or add the url in the GetSmart window.
What makes this program different from the other download programs is the split feature.
If the site you are downloading from supports resume you are able to split the file into
up to 6 different files that will download simultaneously and increase the speed of the
download. Right now this program is still in the development stage but seems stable enough
for the general public to use.
The program is pretty easy to use and the help files is easy to read if you have problems.
Right now the program is free but the author said once he is completely done making the
program he might consider making it shareware. If he does make it shareware he says it
will not be crippled in any way and there won't be any nag screens.
