This is Galaxian and Galaga with a face lift. The only trouble I found is there is no help file that I can find. I read the readme file inside the folder, and it told you that you used the arrow keys, fired with the space bar, etc. and if you wanted to use the mouse it's left button to fire and right button to fire extra weapon, but it's not much info. For instance, while playing, and poking keys, in a effort to find the help file, I discovered that F3 will turn on a set of sights, which make shooting easier [especially since it fires to one side]. But nowhere did I see this mentioned and if I wouldn't have been poking keys, I would have never found this out. Since it's a pretty good game, one hopes that the registered version would have rules.

For instance, every wave, a definitely different colored and looking "ship?" would strike your ship, cause a shield to come on, and say something. I tried, but I could never figure out what they were saying. If you lose all your ships, you can continue at the beginning of the level you were on, and retain the same score. I also noticed that unlike it's predecessors, you could cross the enemy ships and fire down on them; which made figuring out when you were safe and when you were not an adventure.

Other than the lack of game files, it was a pretty good game. It said beta on the screen while you were playing, so maybe these things will be addressed soon. Still for those die-hard shooters, you'll figure it out, sorta.
