"What a fun way to practice math" was my first thought. My
second thought was "The kids can play this on the road which will give them something
to do." In License Plate Math there are one or more license plates shown with two
numbers on each side and you use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and/or division to
determine if there are any matches. For example if the first two numbers are 31 and the
second two numbers are 11 there is a match because 3 - 1 = 1 + 1 but if the numbers were
31 and 51 there wouldn't be a match. The game is simple enough for kids or can be
complicated enough for those who are great at math. You can choose to play a Ten Problem
Game, Time Trial Game, or Combat! One on One Game. You get 100 points for a right answer
but 25 points are taken away for a wrong answer. There is also up to 25 additional points
added depending on if you solve it within 30 seconds and how quick you solve it. If a hint
appears you don't get any bonus points but you can select how long you want to try to
solve before a hint appears or no hint.
There are 11 levels in this game. Level 1 shows one license plate and you determine if
there is a match or not. Levels 2 - 5 all have 4 license plates the higher the level the
harder it is but basically you find which license plate has a match except on level 5 none
of the 4 may not match and you click on no solution. Levels 6 - 7 also has 4 but you must
find the license plate that has 2 or matches on it but level 7 has a no solution button if
you can't find one. Levels 8 - 11 only have one license plate with numbers and one for you
enter the numbers on since you must rearrange the numbers to form one or more matches or
click no solution depending on the level.
All in all this is a great game. It is a great way for children to improve their math
skills. It offers positive reinforcement when they get an answer right and gives the
solution when they get it wrong. I also like the fact it is a game they can play while
riding in a car or on the bus. Its fun for the parents too. Some of the problems had me
scratching my head. It is fun though give it a try you have a 30 days free trial.
