I wish I could say these two programs were the be-all and end-all of photo
browsing and management, but I can't. The management functions, such as assigning photos
to groups, are too clumsy and entirely too difficult to figure out for beginners.
What I CAN say, however, is that both programs are more than competent photo CD Browsers
which allow you to page simply from one photo on your CD to the next, and which allow you
to assign a numerical rating as you scroll through, and then sort the list of photos by
that rating later. If you have a large number of photos, you can attach a one-word
description to those that interest you, for later viewing, also. You can also note
uninteresting photos and mark them by "deleting" them. Obviously, you can't
delete a photo from a CD, but the "delete" feature marks those particular photos
to be ignored in later viewings. If you change your mind at a later date, you can
"undelete" one or all of them.
The programs both also have full screen and slide show capabilities, and both will also
inform you if you have already viewed the particular CD you've just inserted in your
player. Where they differ, in the main, is in the function in the Pro Version which will
also allow you to view graphics and photos on your hard drive.
