I don't know if this program was designed to be an educational program or
not, but it reminds me of an educational program. This demonstration version only has 5
word sets, but the registered version has 500, and it can be updated via the internet.
You can either choose 7 random letters, [well, actually the computer chooses them] or you
can choose a particular word set from the list, decide what would be the highest scoring
word, [and the scores are on the right side of the screen so you don't have to memorize
them], type it in the box, and submit it. Then you can either pick another word, or see
the correct answer, [naturally the computer knows the absolute highest scoring word] The
help file wanders around with small explanations and an arrow, which is another reason why
this feels like it was designed for kids, cause they don't have to wade through a long
help file with sub-titles and everything.
However, I gotta warn ya, it's hard, especially if you and proper spelling are only
occasional acquaintances, like I am. That's not to say it's not entertaining, just hard
for us phonic spellers!
