This utility cleans Netscape's cache, cookies, and history files. I could never locate Netscape's temporary files before, so I had quite a pile. It seems that the Index.dat file contained in Netscape's history folder can't be cleaned within Windows, anyway. These index.dat files, I'm told, can grow to enormous size, not only taking up hard drive space, but also slowing Netscape down.

Cache and Cookie Washer for Netscape is a small program, less than 1 MB. Downloading and installing it was completely uneventful. Cache & Cookie Washer's user interface is simple and clean; all you have to do is bring up the program, click on "Wash Now!" . . . and you can watch as the temporary files scroll out.

I run only Netscape and it's been very temperamental lately, taking a very long time to move between sites. After running the Cache and Cookie Washer, which removed about 5 MB of temporary files, Netscape is running much faster. Since nothing else on my system has changed, I'll give Cache & Cookie Washer the credit.

This is another program well worth the pittance it costs: I'd buy it!
