I was asked to review this by Axialis and am I glad they asked. I've never really bothered with CD players before, mainly because they are too much trouble and have rather boring fascias. I also dislike having to enter the CD title and laboriously enter each track title from every CD I own and do the same for a custom playlist.
Axialis AX-CD Player is a prayer answered. Put your CD in and Axialis retrieves the CD ident number and then pops off to a CD database on the net, finds the relevant details and puts it all in its' own database on your hard drive. That's everything, Album Title, play length, Artist and every track title and track length. Absolutely brilliant. In the unlikely event your CD isn't listed you can fill in the details yourself and send it off to the net database for inclusion. As for the custom play list, Yes Yes Yes! It's drag and drop - so easy and so welcome. So far you haven't had to touch the keyboard and you've got every bit of info you could possibly want and a custom play list.
OK but all that takes up net time which costs - I hear you cry -especially if you have a stack of CDs. Oh no it doesn't. You can stick in loads of CDs offline and Axialis remembers the Ids, all you have to do is go online and do a batch query. Off goes Axialis to the database and a couple of minutes later all the info on your CDs is stored. As soon as you put a CD in up comes the display (configurable) with all the info you want. Want to play your customized play list? Just click the "Custom Button".
The fascia on this player is excellent and you can change the display colour to any colour you want. It looks just like an expensive car CD Player and has the same type of controls. The information display is configurable and you can set it to continuous, repeat track, repeat all, shuffle and scan intro modes. There is also free lifetime upgrade once you have registered.
Thank you Axialis especially Martine for asking me, it has been a pleasure reviewing it. Listen everybody - check this one out.
