This is a basic stock market game that will run under win 95, 98, and NT but runs in the DOS mode. No fancy graphics here, just heads up investing. You have a list of companies that you can buy or sell. Your game can be set up to run a specific number of fictitious days or until you reach a specific amount of portfolio cash.
Breaking news with each turn allows you to see investors reaction based on the stock price trend. You then must choose whether to keep your current holdings or sell and cut your losses. Research is available on each stock but is limited. As with any stock market strategy game you must separate what is going on in the real world and concentrate on what is in the game. Wal-Mart may have had a bad day in New York but on the game it may be climbing the charts.
This would be a good starter game to get the feel of the market movers and understand how different news stories affect the stocks. After this you can then go online and compete using real data. The best thing about this program is the ability to make quick decisions and see the outcomes and it's all free.
