AlterWay is a simple puzzle game that is based on chess. The point of the game is to capture all of the opponents pieces. The opponent never moves but each of your moves must be a capture. The computer generates a new puzzle each time. The amount of points awarded is based on the level that you set it on. The higher the level, the more points are rewarded. There are two modes to this game: training and play. In training mode, there are no points awarded, but it is excellent practice. It contains options such as take back move, restart level, and a solve option which shows you the steps to beat that level. In play mode, none of these options are available. In either mode, you only have 1-2 pieces to use and the pieces change each time you play a new game. The full version game has 10 levels of difficulty. The shareware version has 1 level of difficulty with 10 levels. This is a great game for exercising your chess skills, whether you are a beginner or master.
