This tiny little game is driving me nuts. [I'll learn to aim someday.] You are the commander of a squad of 5 ships, protecting your little hunk of the galaxy. If it wasn't for the rest of the guys I would have been in deep trouble. The rules are a little spotty, but not too bad. You have to find the enemy, decide what kind of missiles to use, and just to make life really interesting-after you fire, it takes another turn for the missile bays to load. You ship doesn't turn too well, if and when you ever get some money, you can buy a new ship. I don't know though, it says that money is based on rank, missions completed, and medals. So, I made it to mission 2, got promoted to Lieutenant, and got the Congressional Medal of Honor-and that wasn't worth a single coin! Not fair!

The full version allows you to have 8 different commanders, who can play in any of over 30 different missions, and allows you to build up your own squadron. I don't know if it was just the shareware version, but I couldn't save my game, and I didn't like that. It's not that hard of a game, [unless, of course, you're like me and can't hit the broad side of a barn] but it's sure harder than most space battles you're use to, there's an awful lot of ships and missiles in a small area. Dodging isn't half as hard as hitting what you're aiming at!
