Boot Guard Plus with Screen Guard is a security program. It is designed to provide security for individual computers both before windows starts and after windows starts. You can choose from 3 levels of security when booting up. There are 3 levels of protection you can choose from for the before windows starts protection. The 3 levels are Medium, which requires primary password to boot the computer and master password to change passwords and options and disable; High, which is the same as medium except you also need to enter the master password to open Boot Guard Plus Admin; and Maximum, which has all the options of Medium and High but also disables all the bypass keys such as safe mode and shift.

After windows loads Screen Guard takes over providing extra security by giving you the ability to instantly lock your screen by clicking Screen Guard in your system tray. Not only will it prevent people from accessing anything even if they try ctrl-alt-del and alt-tab it will also turn the log in box to red to let you know somebody was trying to get in and it will tell you how many times somebody tried. If they try to bypass the security by restarting your computer they still have to get past boot guard.

Additional features are enabling/disabling screen savers and popups. There are also tips for making changes in your bios to provide extra security. Now I can't write this review without giving some warnings, even the author gives some. If you are prone to forget your passwords you need to write them down and store them in a safe place. Also unless absolutely necessary don't use the maximum settings or you may end up having to format your hard drive to access your computer if you do lose or forget your passwords. This program has a 14 day free trial and also provides a test after installing but before enabling to make sure it is compatible with your system.
