I have been using RegClean from Microsoft for several months and just ran it again last
week but when I ran the registry cleaning tool with this program it found over a hundred
invalid registry entries. That's pretty impressive to me since I install and uninstall
several programs very frequently.
Unnecessary files can also be sought and deleted as well as locating duplicate files. I
only wish some sort of filter were included with the duplicate file finder since I am not
really confident deleting files of the same name but in different directories. However,
you do have the option to delete the files or send them to the recycle bin, the latter is
the one I chose, and then I created a new folder and put those files in it just in case I
need to reinstall one of them.
A neat additional feature is the Space Usage monitor which will graph what kind of
programs are eating up space on your system. On mine I saw that the Windows OS takes of
30% of my space while program files take an additional 19%. Other files and free space
occupy my remaining hard drive storage area.
This is a great little program which I will definitely keep, especially since it is free.
