For anyone who is interested in designing their own home pages, Web
Scripting Editor is the perfect tool. If you want to use a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What
You Get) editor, then this is not for you. But for everyone else, I don't think I have
ever seen a more perfect editor at such a reasonable price. WSE is a "Button-Tag
Based" editor, meaning that the code is generated for you after pressing a button
and/or filling in information. Even for those like myself who know HTML, it could be a
real time saver. How many of us have sat there for what seems like forever writing HTML
code for a long, complex table or some such thing!!
Some of the functions of WSE are: sliding text, color selector for backgrounds, text, etc,
list creation, mouseovers (one of my personal favorites), remote windows, CCS, tables, HTA
(Hypertext Application-IE 5.0 only), links using both text and images, forms, frames,
sound (IE only), DHTML (Dynamic HTML), Java, Meta Tag creation, scroll down script
(Netscape only), and much more.
There is a fantastic tutorial when you open the program. It is sound and visual based and
the author did a fantastic job here to say the least. You see the actual workspace you
will be using and also see the mouse move and click and the end result of the exercise.
There is a 60 day trial period which I think is great. So many trial periods are 14 or 15
days and with this program, it is going to take a while for you to investigate all the
bells and whistles.
All in all, I say give this one a try. I suspect that after 60 days, you will be beating
down Blueprint Software's door to order the registered program.
