I had the "re-boot blues" until I downloaded MemTurbo. This is a terrific little program that keeps RAM available for your use, preventing that slow, grinding, endless waiting that happens after an intense session of multi-tasking or prolonged file-opening and closing and/or lots of cutting and pasting. You know what I mean.
After a trouble-free download and install I just read the directions, set a couple of options and let MemTurbo do it's stuff. It sits as an icon in the taskbar and if you run your cursor over it you can see just how much RAM you have available at any moment. You can set it so it automatically frees up some RAM when you get down to a certain point... or you can set it to defrag and free up RAM at intervals AND you can over-ride those settings with your mouse or hot-keys and ask it to do it NOW.
The free (for thirty days) download has one option crippled, the Cache Optimizer... which does not interfere with the de-fragging and retrieval of RAM... and there are NO nag screens. The Help information is to the point, the graphics are clean and easy to decipher... the website has further useful information... it's just terrific from any angle.
My opinion... If you have Windows... you NEED this program.
