I contacted Ryan Rea at Netsonic, a man with infinite patience and unlimited willingness to help, and between us we managed to isolate the problem to my virus scanner PC-cillin on which Ryan is working to get a fix as I write. Visit WEB3000 at http://www.web3000.com and you can download Netsonic 2.5 shareware version (Unlimited time Limited options) or purchase Netsonic Pro 2.5 online, released 28th September 1999.
Once you have surfed a few sites you realize how wickedly fast this program is. Opening of pages visited before is virtually instant due to the cache that Netsonic builds. Not only does it cache the pages visited but also the other pages on the site so you can surf that site offline! The shareware version is limited to less options such as no MTU optimizer and no Maximum acceleration with autorefresh (Yes the Pro version does that too, if the page content has changed, it knows and refreshes the page for you). A graphic display of pre-load and acceleration sits nicely in the menu bar so you can see what it's doing and you can also exclude sites, useful if you use Hotmail otherwise it would load the last message page instead of the new one.
Take my advice, try the shareware version, two days later you'll want to buy the Pro version its only $39.95, you'll recoup that very quickly in time saved online.
